Teeth Whitening: How Does It Work?

Generally, most teeth whitening procedures are performed professionally in a dentist’s office, like Montillo Dental Associates of Braintree, in about an hour. A whitening treatment, consisting of between 25 percent to 40 percent hydrogen peroxide, is applied to your teeth before a special lamp is aimed at them to activate the whitening chemicals. Some practices may use a laser instead. Then gel is reapplied after 20 minutes and the cycle will repeat at least twice.
